Connected Environments
precede an environmentally-friendly art workshop in which children use flowers, plants and recycled materials to beautify a museum space.
Solar Punch, a local band that uses solar energy to perform music about conservation and the environment, performs from 2:30-3:30.

Faith Ringgold is known for mixing words and images.
Finding inspiration in
American People, Black Light: Faith Ringgold's Paintings of the 1960s
, children participate in a flag-making art workshop in which they'll experience the power of mixing words and images as they explore their own culture, race and identity.
Docents layer storytelling into the tours as they introduce participants to some of the many children's books written by Faith Ringgold.
