CONTEMPORARY LATIN AMERICAN ART
FROM THE LUIS CALZADILLA COLLECTION

Contemporary Latin American Art from the Luis Calzadilla Collection features 27 of the more than 35 works that were generously donated to the Neuberger Museum of Art by the family of the late Luis Calzadilla.

Visitors will discover the interests of an architect who became one of the first young collectors to support Latin American Art in Miami.

The exhibition surveys a wide variety of visual artists active in the 1980s and 1990s, a time when Latin America was witnessing a true artistic boom and Miami was becoming an important center for Latin American art and culture.

Artists include Carlos Garaicoa, Arturo Duclós, Marta María Pérez Bravo, Gerardo Suter, Eugenia Vargas and Leda Catunda.

Contemporary Latin American Art from the Luis Calzadilla Collection is on view through April 11, 2010 and was organized by Patrice Giasson, Alex Gordon Curator of the Art of the Americas, Neuberger Museum of Art.
