Lilla LoCurto & Bill Outcault: Much Madness is divinest Sense
March 27 – June 30, 2019
In Much Madness is divinest Sense, artist team Lilla LoCurto and Bill Outcault explore issues relating to the human body, its physical and psychological vulnerability and cultural identity, using advanced technologies.
A selection of recent photographs, drawings, video animations and installations, and an interactive, life-sized marionette that responds to and interacts with the visitor will be on view. The marionette is featured thematically throughout the exhibition, allowing the artists to abstract human characteristics in ways that are fascinating, yet unnerving and uncanny. Mental disturbance, anguish, and distress are persistent themes in their new work.
Lilla LoCurto & Bill Outcault: Much Madness is divinest Sense is organized by the Neuberger Museum of Art, Purchase College, State University of New York and curated by Helaine Posner, Chief Curator. Generous support for this project is provided by the Friends of the Neuberger Museum of Art and the Purchase College Foundation.
